Crayola Crayons are Environmentally friendly.
Did you know that solar panels provide energy to produce one billion crayons and half a billion markers each year?
A new tree is planted for every one used to make our coloured pencils.
Using recycled plastic in our products keeps hundreds or tons of plastic out of landfills each year.

Many Types of Energy
Water Power
- Moving water produces energy
- Moving water is a source of clean renewable energy and a reliable energy source which converts kinetic energy from falling water into electricity
- It is the oldest method by which renewable energy has been harnessed by the human race
- I saw a miniature dam by Mud Bay
Fossil Fuels
- Fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas come from the ground and can be turend into energy
- They are a non-renewable source of energy
Nuclear Power
- Nuclear energy is a clean, safe way to make electricity. It does not burn any fuel like coal so there are no pollutants released into the air.
- It uses however, a fossil fuel, uranium.
Wind Power
- Turbines create electricity from wind.
- It is a renewable form of energy because we never run out of wind.
- The windmill was the first form of technology.
- Wind is a source of clean renewable energy
- Scientists use wind tunnels to learn what shapes move fastest.
Solar Power
- most solar power comes from the sun
- poor countries use solar panels
- solar panels on the roof provide heat and hot water
- satellites use solar power panels for power.

Energy
Climate Change
Saving Energy at School
- the earth is getting warmer
- many experts believe that our activities are casing this climate change
- carbon dioxide stays in the earth's hemisphere, trapping the sun's heat
Saving Energy at School
- if windows and doors are left open during the winter, heat will escape
- if you ride your bike to school you will never get stuck in traffic and you will not pollute
- turn off the computers when not in use
Saving Energy at Home
- when you leave the house turn the thermostat down or switch the heat off
- when you are going to leave the room for over ten minutes turn the lights off Why Save Energy?
- once fossil fuels like coal, natural gas, and oil are gone they are gone forever
- if we keep using so much energy as we do now, these supplies will run out
